Rainwater Collection Systems

A rainwater collection system is basically a storage tank or cistern system for catching water. Thousands of gallons can be stored at once just during a brief rainfall. Typically a gutter system collects the rainfall off the roof and sends it to the holding tank. The water is gravity fed from the holding tank or pressurized via a pump to the point of use. It can be filtered and used in non-potable applications such as irrigation or toilet flushing or even processed to pure drinking water and used throughout the home.
